Beta program
Test the build.
Shape the release.
This is the pre-release APK for Kinetic on Android. It's real software — the same build the team runs — and it needs real users to find the rough edges before 1.0 ships.

How to install
Getting Kinetic on your device.
Download the APK to your Android device
Tap the Download APK button above on your Android device, or
transfer the file from your computer. The file name looks like
kinetic-fieldtest-1.0.0-<commit>.apk.
If you are on a computer, enable file transfer on your Android device: connect via USB, pull down the notification shade, tap the USB connection notification, and choose File Transfer (MTP). Copy the APK to your Downloads folder.
Allow installs from unknown sources
Android blocks APK installs from outside the Play Store by default. The exact path differs by device and Android version:
Android 8 and later (most devices):
You will see a prompt when you open the APK asking "Allow this source?"
— tap Settings, then toggle on Allow from this source.
The permission is tied to the app that opened the file (usually Files or
Chrome), not granted system-wide.
If no prompt appears — navigate manually:
Settings
→
Apps
→
Special app access
→
Install unknown apps
— then toggle on your file manager or browser.
You can turn this permission off again after installation. It has no effect on the installed app — it only governs future sideloads from that same app.
Open the APK file and tap Install
Open your file manager (Files, My Files, or similar), navigate to Downloads, and tap the Kinetic APK. Android will show an install sheet — tap Install. Installation takes a few seconds.
You may see a "Play Protect" warning. Tap More details then Install anyway. This warning appears for any app not distributed through Play — it is not an indicator of a problem with Kinetic.
Launch Kinetic and verify the build
Tap Open or find Kinetic in your app drawer. You will see a brief onboarding screen on first launch.
To confirm the build version: go to Settings → About. The version and commit hash shown there should match what appears on this page.
When updating to a newer beta, install directly over the existing app — no uninstall needed. Your workout data is preserved across updates. Still, export a backup first as noted above.
